You may have noticed it on your SmartVox phone, right there next to the Redial button. You may have even pressed it once or twice. You may even be using it a little bit every day. Whatever you may have done with it so far, that little button named “dir” next to the redial is going to start providing a whole lot more fun for everyone.
Pressing DIR won’t hurt anything, and you can even access your personal directory and store numbers in it. But for some of you, as we roll this feature out, you will see a third option called “Central Directory.” Selecting this option by scrolling to it or pressing the number 3, will display a list of all of the other people that work at your company or organization, along with their local extension. You can just scroll down to the person you want to talk to and press the “Dial” button to instantly call them.
Again, please note that this is not being rolled out to everyone at once, but in groups of customers. We encourage you to try it out and see how it works. If you have any problems, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what happened and we’ll fix it right away.
So please, meet DIR, and have fun with it! We’ll be rolling out additional features through DIR in the future, including the much awaited visual voicemail service, similar to what you may have on your smart phone.
